The 2027 Canada Winter Games will bring together Canada’s top young Badminton athletes for competition, development, and a once in a lifetime multi sport experience in Québec City. Badminton NWT is preparing athletes and team staff to proudly represent the Northwest Territories as Team NT Badminton.

Event Information

Host City: Québec City, Québec
Games Dates: February 26 to March 7, 2027

Competition schedules, travel information, and additional details will be updated as information becomes available.


Team Composition

Athletes: Five male athletes, Five female athletes
Athletes must be under 23 years of age as of December 31, 2026 (born in 2004 or later).


Team Staff

Each Territorial Team may register: One Head Coach and one Assistant Coach, or One Coach and one Manager. If both male and female athletes are attending, the staff must include both a male and a female representative.

Athletes must:

Meet Canada Winter Games age eligibility.
Meet Team NT residency requirements.
Be members in good standing with Badminton NWT.
Participate in the published selection process.
Complete all required registrations.
Follow Team NT policies and agreements.


Coach Selection

Team NT coaches help create a safe, positive, and athlete-centred environment while supporting athlete development before and during the Canada Winter Games.

To be eligible, coaches must:
Be members in good standing with Badminton NWT.
Meet Canada Games eligibility requirements.
Hold the required NCCP certification.
Complete Safe Sport requirements.
Participate in Team NT preparation activities.
Demonstrate a commitment to athlete welfare and long-term development.
