Badminton NWT is pleased to announce that Julie Jeffery and Jeremy Kielstra have been selected as the Team NT badminton coaches for the 2027 Canada Winter Games in Québec City.

Julie and Jeremy were selected following a review by the Badminton NWT Selection Committee and will now begin the next stage of preparation toward representing the Northwest Territories at the Games.

Their selection is about much more than February 2027. Over the coming months, both coaches will continue working through their coaching certification and professional development pathways while preparing to support the young athletes who will ultimately be selected to represent Team NT.

The Canada Winter Games provide an important opportunity not only for athlete development, but also for developing Northern coaches and creating experiences they can bring back to their clubs, communities, and future generations of athletes.

Badminton NWT would also like to thank everyone who expressed an interest and put their name forward to volunteer as a Team NT coach. The willingness of coaches to step forward, continue learning, and contribute their time is an important part of building a stronger badminton community across the Northwest Territories.

There is plenty of work ahead for Julie and Jeremy as preparations continue, including coach education, athlete development, training camps, and ultimately helping guide Team NT onto the courts in Québec City.
