As we begin a new year, Badminton NWT looks ahead with excitement and a growing sense of possibility for the sport across the Northwest Territories.
Badminton continues to be one of the most accessible and inclusive sports in the North. It can be played in school gyms, community spaces, and recreation centres, bringing together players of all ages and skill levels. That accessibility makes badminton a powerful tool for participation, physical literacy, and community connection.
In 2026, we are looking forward to continuing to strengthen local programming, supporting schools and communities that are introducing or growing badminton opportunities. Building confidence in athletes, coaches, and volunteers remains a priority, along with creating positive experiences that keep people coming back to the court.
Competitions, training opportunities, and community events will continue to play an important role in the year ahead. These moments give athletes a chance to challenge themselves, learn new skills, and experience the joy of sport in a supportive environment. Just as importantly, they help build relationships and a sense of belonging within and between communities.
As we move into the new year, we thank everyone who continues to support badminton in the Northwest Territories. We are excited for what lies ahead and look forward to building the next chapter together.
