Badminton NT will be hosting a Special General Meeting on January 20, 2026 to review and approve the organization’s updated by-laws.
This Special General Meeting marks an important step in strengthening governance across badminton in the Northwest Territories. The updated by-laws reflect changes to board composition, the introduction of participant categories, and alignment with Safe Sport requirements. Together, these updates help ensure clarity, accountability, and strong foundations as the organization continues to grow.
Good governance is about more than policies on paper. It is about creating structures that support athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and communities, while clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes. This work has been thoughtful and collaborative, with a focus on building an organization that is transparent, inclusive, and sustainable.
We would like to sincerely thank MACA and Sport & Law for their guidance and expertise throughout the by-law review process. Their support has been instrumental in helping Badminton NT align with best practices and current governance standards.
If you are interested in learning more about the proposed by-law changes or participating in the Special General Meeting, please contact info@badmintonnwt.ca.
We look forward to continuing to learn, improve, and strengthen badminton across the Northwest Territories, together.
